A Long February

I am beginning to think I just threw in the towel last month, giving up and doing what ever I could to survive those long 28 days. It was a busy month, with one much needed adult vacation and four (count them – four) additional kid-free evenings, combined with an erratic day care schedule, a new role at work for me and a handful of sick days for all of us.

So in our attempt just to get by, we 1) broke some promises, like vowing to never take our child to the grocery store in their pajamas. However, at least Alex’s PJs did not have Thomas or Winnie the Pooh on them, but he did insist on pushing the little cart and threw a fit because we wouldn’t buy him M&Ms for breakfast. And 2) broke some rules, like letting our children watch Peter Pan every night for 28 days straight. However, it is the first show that has kept Avery’s attention, thus allowing me to finish a load of laundry, but it does offer a wide-variety of politically incorrect Disney songs. Do you remember the catchy tune, “Who turned the Red Man red?”
