The Road Warriors

After five months, six customer support calls and one shipped part from Schwinn, I was finally able to put Alex’s first bike together and let him take it on an inaugural ride (down the driveway). And of course, Avery had to get in on the action.

Waiting for My Opposite Day

My first memories of Mothers’ day are seeing my mom sleep in, have breakfast in bed, sit on the couch, not pick up any toys, shoes or dishes and relax on the deck while my dad grilled out. I am sure she did a few other noteworthy things, but we were also encouraged to run off and play with neighbors while she read a book … leaving her in peace and quiet with her annual bouquet of flowers.

It seemed more like opposite day – not Mothers’ day – but now I get it, and now I can’t wait for it. However, I’ll be patient. I realize it is way too hard to tell a two and four year old that I am off duty for the day, and somehow I still don't mind it as long as Alex's keeps pointing out the "beautiful" flowers that he bought me and Avery keeps dancing to the Charlie Brown theme song that Hallmark now packages up so nicely in their cards.

Baseball Stats (and Pictures) for April

We are catching Reds fever, and we had our first successful day at the ballpark, which can be summed up by …

- 4 tickets
- 2 ice creams
- 22 napkins
- 2 bratts
- 1 big red smoky
- 6 beers
- 1 large bag of popcorn
- 3 bathroom trips
- 12 runs total
- 2 runs for the reds
- 7 and ½ innings of baseball
- Not willing to admit the amount of dollars spent

Rock of Love or Bad Girls Club?

You decide the lesser of the two evils, but we are making sure that her new look is never repeated -- a fresh set of back-up clothes (size 4T) were left at daycare immediately. You never know the outfit you packed six months ago is too small, until it is too late.
