Sleepy in Seattle

Despite all the excitement – new people and places to see. Despite the great weather – sweaters and fleece are permanently in season. And despite every attempt to keep Avery awake, she refused to adjust to Pacific Standard Time which kept us a bit out of synch.

But in between all the slumber (early to bed) and downtime (early to rise), we played tourists in Seattle and explored as much as we could around Port Townsend. And more importantly, we got some QT with Kathy and Lilly.

As always, Kathy tested my eating habits (can’t a girl just crave American fare?) and my mothering techniques (do I really have to participate in Ring Around the Rosy?), but it was great to get a peek into their new and ever changing world back in the states and to talk for hours about everything and anything the old fashion way (Skype got a rest).

Details over our travel nightmare (nothing like missing a flight with a three year old) will follow. Until then, click here for a full look at Avery’s first girl’s weekend and big adventure in the Pacific Northwest.
