Happy Father’s Day Hike

Our persistence is beginning to pay off. Once again, we pulled up a trail map online and then took a chance on finding a short, but sweet hike in Ohio. Short because we have little legs that can’t go more than a mile or two. Sweet because we have to have some draw slightly comparable to mountain vistas.

So this time we zeroed in on John Bryan State Park, relying on my sixth grade memories of Glen Helen and figuring a post-hike trip into Yellow Springs and a staple stop at the Ole Trail Tavern would at least make the hour plus drive worth it. But we were actually very surprised by the trail within the park (well maintained and paralleling the gorge) and Avery’s willingness to hold her daddy’s hand and keep in stride for almost 30 minutes. Not a bad gift for Andy.
