Ups and Downs

It seemed Alex’s milestones were on a hiatus, but over the past week, he has made up for lost time. His two new tricks: talking and climbing. He has expanded his random babbles of “da da” and “pa pa” (which means ma ma), to “up,” “down,” “yes” and “dog.” And more importantly, he is using them in the right context and with their associated non verbals – head nod, head shake and a point to Casey.

At the same time he is chattering these new words, he is acting them out by climbing on and repelling off of everything! He is now getting up on the couch and down off the couch. Up on the bed and down off the bed. On top the laundry basket. On top of the coffee table. On top of the footstool. Up the slide and down the slide. You get the idea, and we are getting a work-out watching and listening.
