Historical Events

They said it couldn’t be done. The odds too high. The probability too low. But on a brisk autumn day in November, two suburban parents were actually able to be spontaneous. They found a sitter at the last minute, and were then able to attend an event that had not been on their calendar for three weeks. Some questioned them for even trying. But there’s been no precedent for this. And we are not sure if it will ever happen again, so this one is going in the history books.

Oh, and it is also probably worth noting that the mad scramble was about seeing Senator Barack Obama – who ended up speaking in front of a crowd of 30,000 people who waited over two hours in a mile and half line – just 48 hours before he became the first African-America President-Elect. Some will say that was also a pretty significant moment in time. Glad I could be a part of them both.
