I was starting to feel some anxiety over the fact that Alex is about to turn three and has only played in the snow three times in his life. If we stilled lived in Colorado, he would be playing in snow three times a day! But even if we take out my high expectations after living in the mountains for four years, I remember having a lot of snow as a kid and plenty of opportunities right here in Ohio to put on my hat and gloves for an impromptu neighborhood snow ball fight or a planned tubing trip to Hills and Dales Community Golf Course.
Luckily, this past week, we experienced those times of old with three days of snow – and with well over three inches of accumulation. Even better, the temperatures were not below freezing and we didn’t have to send the kids to daycare, which finally gave us the chance to put Alex’s new sled and our small, but steep hill in the backyard to use.
