A New Year's Revelation

Either the stars were aligned or we discovered the perfect formula for a grown-up AND kid-friendly New Years Eve. Last night we proved you can have kids at your party, but it doesn’t have to be a kids’ party. We hosted three couples and seven little ones at our house, and no one had to give up their adult (or two-year old) identity and everyone got to spend plenty of time socializing with those in their own age range (i.e. the moms didn’t have to chase after the kids the whole night.).

The adults were actually able to enjoy a four-course meal prepared by Andy (salad, shrimp, pasta and prime rib) and managed to polish off seven bottles of wine and champaign. The kids had a more simple meal prepared by Sherri (hot dogs and string cheese) and managed to keep themselves entertained with trains, slides, music, games and playtime time in the exersaucer.

It was a win-win for everyone, with lots of laughter and fun for all ages. And Alex summed it up best when he woke up this morning and said “I want my Party to come back.”
